Concept stage

01 · The problem

When roads fail, access fails

A flooded road, a washed-out bridge or a river with no crossing can cut a district off. Boats, trucks and helicopters each solve one part of the journey. Few solve all of it.

  • Flooded districts
  • River deltas
  • Islands
  • Hill terrain

02 · The idea

One vehicle, three elements

Why three modes? Each one covers what the others cannot.

Road

StrengthsSimple, low-speed travel where roads exist. The wheels double as landing gear.

LimitsStops at flooded or broken roads.

Water · Foil

StrengthsCrosses rivers and flooded streets. The hydrofoil lifts the hull for efficient cruising.

LimitsNeeds open water. Debris and rough water restrict use.

Flight

StrengthsBypasses debris, water and terrain in a direct line.

LimitsHighest power draw. Short hops only. Weather sensitive.

Four configurations

04 · How it transforms

From road to sky in six steps

  1. 01Drive

Hub-motor wheels carry it to the water's edge.

  2. 02Retract

    Wheels fold into the hull.

  3. 03Float

    The sealed hull floats.

  4. 04Foil

The hydrofoil deploys and lifts the hull.

  5. 05Unfold

    Four rotor arms unfold.

  6. 06Fly

Eight rotors lift off for a short hop.

05 · Purpose and use cases

Built for places where roads fail

A multi-mode concept vehicle for flooded districts, river deltas, islands and hill terrain.

Flood and disaster response

Reach cut-off areas when roads are underwater.

How the modes helpDrive to the flood edge, float across, fly over debris.

Medical and emergency transport

Carry light medical supplies or a single patient across rivers and islands faster than road and boat combined.

How the modes helpRoad to the shore, water or foil over the river, flight over what is left.

River, island and delta connectivity

Serve regions like the Northeast India, the Sundarbans and the Kerala backwaters, where one journey needs road, then boat, then air.

How the modes helpOne vehicle covers every leg, with no transfers.

Last-mile light cargo

Small, urgent, high-value parcels such as medicines, spare parts and documents.

How the modes helpTake the road where it exists, then switch mode to cross the last gap.

06 · Who benefits

Who it is for

Disaster agencies

Teams that must reach cut-off areas quickly.

Health services

Services moving light supplies or a single patient.

Island and delta communities

People whose daily journey crosses land, water and gaps between.

Remote logistics

Operators of small, urgent, high-value deliveries.

Not designed for agriculture, heavy freight or long-range travel. Trayan-X is a light, short-hop utility concept.

07 · Design estimates

Illustrative figures Estimates

These are design estimates for a concept. They are not measured, not tested and not for real-world use.

Road
Hub-motor wheels, up to about 40 km/h
Water
Wheels retract into the hull; the hull floats
Hydrofoil
Lifts the hull at about 7 m/s; cruise on roughly 4 to 8 kW
Flight
8 rotors on 4 folding arms; about 80 kW in hover; 10 to 15 minute hops
Payload
To be defined
Range
